Yi Ren® Qigong Seminars
Summer, 2010
“The purpose of this Internal Virtues Cultivation Series is to develop the intrinsic
healthy and virtuous nature of humanity by removing habitual seeds of arrogance,
jealousy, greed, passive reaction and unhealthy programs from One’s mind
and body and by following the way of virtues.”
Our Qigong practice brings the Qi inward, into the deeper layers of the body
and the body’s consciousness; the Qi is the medium that brings the mind
to the consciousness of the body and brings the consciousness of the body to
the mind,
allowing the mind and the
consciousness of the body to communicate with each other. As the body holds up
a mirror to the mind, reflecting whatever thoughts and emotions are around us
and within us, our practice helps us to recognize and become aware of these thoughts
and emotions.
Our virtues retreat series provides methods and tools for experiencing and
recognizing the nature and the qualities of internal energies and their relationship
to consciousness, which is the foundation of spiritual development in traditional teaching. In
the internal cultivation tradition the establishment of virtue is understood
to be not an ethereal or abstract, ideal state, but an embodied achievement,
one which reflects the deep inner nature of the internal organs. And this embodiment
of virtues—respect, discipline, sincerity, authenticity, appropriateness, wisdom,
and immortality—by the organs, nourishes and accelerates our spiritual
development.
The practices in our virtues retreat series provide a unique opportunity to understand
the essence of the ancient book, Dao De Jing (Tao Te Jing)—“The Way
of Virtues”—from the point of view of the internal cultivation tradition.
In these seminars we will offer virtue meditations based upon teaching in the Dao De Jing, helping us to understand
this ancient and profound text in a new way—as a Guide Book for fuller personal
growth and spiritual development through internal virtues cultivation.
